Activities at Archview Lodge Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Diane Wood

Head of Activities

Hi, my name is Diane and  I am Head of Activities here at Archview.  I have worked in the homes since 2009.

I strongly believe in creating moments for our residents and embracing their individuality with tailor made activities, whilst remaining person centred and respecting resident’s preferences. Every day I like to ensure the residents on memory lane can enjoy themselves and have a good time whilst forming bonds with each other and the staff around them.

Outside of work,  I have a 23 years old son and a wee dog called Hugo and my ambition is to make people smile and be happy.

Football Memories

We managed to get a tour of Hampden Park, Scotland’s national football stadium, courtesy of Football Memories. This is an initiative that aids in helping older people in care get involved in football in any way they can.

As part of this initiative, we were invited to tour the stadium and also the Hall of Fame and football museum by the curator. The residents had a fantastic time looking through all the old football memorabilia, reading about players, watching videos and much more.

While we were there, the Scotland Manager, Alex McLeish, was doing some TV work and we managed to grab him for a chat and a photograph with the residents, which he very obligingly did.

Elf Day

Elf Day

Residents and staff at Archview had a great time celebrating Elf Day by dressing in their best elf apparel.
