Activities at Alice Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Penny Allen

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Penny and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Alice Grange.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities, leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of the Alice Grange team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the residents' input into our weekly planner is important as it gives all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous passions and hobbies.

Life at Alice Grange Care Home

Animal Farm

Animal Farm

We had a superb visit from Gemma's Farm; residents enjoyed cuddles with tiny chicks, rabbits, and even a pink chicken! Although the summer weather didn't make an appearance, most of the residents did!

Woodbridge Regatta

Woodbridge Regatta

Alice Grange joined in with the fun at Woodbridge Regatta, which was enjoyed by many.

The 179th Woodbridge Regatta saw hundreds turn up for an afternoon of music, sailing, fun and games – all raising funds for good causes.

Regatta committee chairman, Geoff Holdcroft, said that it was a “record year." “It’s been a wonderful afternoon; everyone has enjoyed themselves and we’ve even been spared the rain,” he added. "The regatta is all about Woodbridge and our neighboring villages coming together to celebrate their riverside heritage.”

Crowds were reported to be gathering an hour before the event opened and organizers reported a steady stream of visitors throughout the day.

We will definitely be returning next year!

Games Morning

Games Morning

Residents enjoying rolling the dice whilst playing our Barchester dementia board game.

What school did you go to? Can you remember your first job? Do you have a favourite colour? These are just a few of the questions asked as we go round the board.

The conversation was flowing and there were lots of laughs; residents enjoy learning new things about their neighbours and fellow residents.

Woodbridge Dementia Cafe

Woodbridge Dementia Cafe

Once a month, we visit The Woodbridge Dementia cafe, which is a 15 minute ride in the mini- bus from the home, and is always fun... But the tea, cake and a sing song is the icing on the cake!

It's a great outside social environment for our residents living with Dementia. New friendships are made and we have some very interesting conversations.

A great time is always had by all those who go.
