Activities at Windmill Manor Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Residents and staff enjoyed seeing Mr. Fox, a miniature horse who came to visit as part of our animal therapy session. He happily went round to see every resident, and some of them enjoyed stroking or combing his mane.

Over 40 residents joined us for an afternoon of festive fun at the local Grasshopper Inn enjoying a pre-Christmas three course meal and, most of all, a tipple of Sherry or two. Lots of fun and laughter was had by all.

A Very Furry Friday

A Very Furry Friday

Residents enjoyed an afternoon at Windmill Manor with some rather lovely cuddly animals; they were lucky to get close to a skunk, a kitten, a chinchilla and a rabbit. The smiles on their faces were lovely, proving that animal therapy for people living with dementia is extremely important for their wellbeing.
