Activities at Windmill Manor Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Tickled Pink

The Ladies from tickled pink joined us for a spectacular Christmas show. Everyone loved the songs, dancing and of course the mulled wine and mince pies that followed.

Glee Singers

Wow what a performance the wonderful Glee singers returned due to popular demand. Everyone had a brilliant time and transported them back to the good old days.

Animal Therapy

Once again, Windmill Manor was visited by the ever popular Zoolab.

Consisting of centipedes, giant cock roach, African snail, to mention a few of our visitors. Surprisingly to some, our residents show a keen interest in each individual creature, finding out where they originated, their maintenance, and of course, what they eat.

Music for Health

Once a month at Windmill Manor we participate in a musical workshop designed for Dementia. This includes a range of different musical activities we join in with and is always enjoyed.

World Pasta Day

We celebrated World Pasta Day on the 25th of October. Windmill Manor chose to join in by doing a Pasta Painting activity. We took different types of pasta, including penne, cannelloni, lasagne sheets and many more. We all had a very colourful afternoon of fun.

Postcards of Kindness

Postcards of Kindness

Residents at Windmill are now part of a global initiative to combat loneliness and give them an opportunity to communicate with people around the world.

Our residents receive postcards from all over the globe, often from places where the residents have visited in the past or have family living there. This initiative enables our residents to share memories but also to make new memories.
