Activities at Waterside Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Hi, my name is Blerta. I am the Activities Coordinator here at Waterside Court. I joined the team in February 2024.
I absolutely love my role, and I'm passionate about creating meaningful experiences that enrich the lives of our residents.
Every day is different, and our life enrichment program brings out my creative side, which I share with everyone.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Waterside Court Care Home
Movie Afternoon!
Movie afternoons are very popular here at Waterside Court. Our residents find this to be relaxing and take this time to unwind whilst socialising and bonding with each other.
We also find movie time to provide our residents with cognitive stimulation and many find these sessions to be therapeutic, helping to manage stress and anxiety whilst evoking positive memories and emotions.
This week's movie title was 'The Chorus', which was kindly provided by one of our residents from his wide movie collection. Everyone was truly glued to the television and the feedback was awesome!!

Fashion Show!
We were absolutely thrilled to host the most glamorous and exciting fashion show here at Waterside Court!
It was a day filled with style, creativity, and endless laughter. Our residents, families, and friends came together to showcase a range of stunning outfits, with the staff theme being "Wear something to represent your country", capturing the essence of London Fashion Week.
One of the absolute highlights of the fashion show was the dazzling participation of our dear resident, Ann. The moment she stepped onto the runway, it was clear she was a true fashion icon.
The "models" took to the runway with confidence and grace, each look showcasing different parts of the world/ lifestyle. A huge thank you to everyone who participated, helped organise, and supported this wonderful event. We couldn't have asked for a better day to remember.
Valentine's Day Celebrations!
Today was an amazing day at Waterside Court as we celebrated Valentine’s Day.
The home was beautiful, as red was the colour with everyone dressed to impress. Our couples pulled all the stops to show their love for each other, creating more beautiful memories for all of us!!
Our chefs made a delicious buffet lunch which was tantalising for all taste buds. To top it all, we had entertainment from the amazing Alan Hook. This was truly a very special day and one to remember!!
Bob Marley Day!
“Today we celebrated the birth and life of The Legend, Bob Marley.” We had an amazing day in which our Chef prepared and served delicious Jamaican food, followed by an afternoon of vibing to Bob Marley’s reggae music.
We had lots of fun as we danced to the rhythm of his timeless music, enjoying every moment together. One Love!” That sounds like a fantastic way to honour his legacy!
Fantastic Trip to the Garden Centre
We had a fantastic trip to the Garden Centre with our residents!
The weather was beautiful with the sun shining, and everyone enjoyed exploring the lush displays, and we all did a bit of shopping. It was the perfect day to connect with nature and each other.
A memorable outing filled with smiles and good times!
National Puzzle Day
We celebrated National Puzzle Day here at Waterside Court with an afternoon of fun, laughter, and teamwork! Residents enjoyed piecing together puzzles, challenging their minds, and sharing stories along the way. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, engage, and celebrate the joy of problem-solving.
Irene is our resident puzzle champion. She tackled every puzzle with unmatched focus and enthusiasm, inspiring us all with her determination. Watching her effortlessly piece everything together was a highlight of National Puzzle Day at Waterside Court. Her love for puzzles reminds us how powerful and rewarding a challenge can be! It was a special day that brought everyone closer together and sparked smiles all around!
