Activities at The Warren Care Home

Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Tifrani

Activities Coordinator

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Trip to Walcott and Potter Heigham

The Warren on tour....what a day out, we all came back tired after such a lovely day.  The weather was perfect, the company was perfect, the food was perfect and well, it was all just perfect!!! We visited Walcott first and had a walk down the sea front, one lady said "I didn't think I would ever see the sea again" she was so happy.  We then had lunch along with some chips..well we just had to!!! We then went a little further and visited Potter Heigham for tea and for what possibly could be the largest cake in Norfolk.  Had a quick look around the shops, tried on some silly hats and then home for a nap.

PAT Dogs

Huge thank you to Rescue Dog to Therapy Dog for bringing Peggy and Buster to see the residents. As you can see from the pictures these little cuties made their day. Animal therapy is such a fantastic way for the residents to interact and its wonderful for their well being.

Herb Garden

We started our Herb Garden today and what a beautiful day it was too. We planted Rosemary, Thyme,Parsley, Oregano and basil and they will keep the Mint that is growing like wildfire company. Three great things about our Herb Garden, the residents get to enjoy their gardening, it's fantastic exercise and our chef will use the herbs in his cooking, can't beat the taste of fresh herbs!!! As soon as the herbs were planted they took a well deserved tea break.

National Museum Day

Today we had a trip out for National Museum day and we went to Museum of Norwich at the Bridewell we had a blast. We tried on hats, we looked at shoes, medicines, shopping and old Valentines cards that had been sent..it was such a wonderful time. We finished off with lunch outside (why not too!!) And a large cold drink to cool down...we were officially the "Ladies what lunch".

Board Games and Cards

We got out the board games this afternoon and played various games. We ended up playing Snap of all things, we laughed and laughed and it got all very competitive.

Indoor Bowls

We worked off the Christmas Chocolates today with some carpet bowls. We had an expert among us who also gave us some tips and suggestions on how to “up our game”. We had a great time and learnt a lot from his tips.
