Activities at The Warren Care Home

Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.

Kirstie Tifrani

Activities Coordinator

My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

What happens in craft club, stays in craft club!!

Welcome to Christmas Craft Club.  Rule 1 of craft club is - What happens in craft club, stays in craft club!!
So...we did lots today, we finished off our Advent Callendar and put in the chocolates, we painted our Reindeer with some fabulous Antlers, painted our Merry Christmas hanging decoration and then put together our Felt Christmas Tree.  It's certainly beginning to look a lot like Christmas now

What an amazing evening at our first ever Christmas light switch on.  We were entertained by the absolutely fantastic Invidia Voices - Rock and Soul Choir who just made the night perfect!!!
All topped off with mulled wine, Warm Sausage rolls, and mince pies.  What another wonderful start to our #countdowntochristmas2022

Happy Birthday Dorothy.....

What a day.... firstly a big Happy Birthday to this little sweetie, Joyce, 91 years old today and is one of the sweetest, kindest ladies I've met. I could listen to her stories all day. She was joined by her family from the USA as well as friends from the UK for a small party. We also had the ever funny "Budgie" entertains us this morning, as well as a personalised Happy Birthday to Joyce, he sung a range of song we all sung along too. Some residents even got up to have a little dance.

Thank you Gift!!

What a wonderful day we have had today. We received a over whelming thank you basket for all the staff from a very grateful relative, it was such a lovely thing to do. We adore our jobs and we do it for the love of caring for others, but to get appreciated like this was so so lovely.

Festive Fayre at the Forum!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at #TeamWarren

We enjoyed a wonderful trip out to the Festive Fare at the Forum this morning. There were craft stalls, cake stalls and even a brass band to make up feel in the spirit of things. Followed by lunch at Grosvenor fish bar with the most extremely helpful person who sorted us a table and made everything so east. It's the little things that go a long way. A spot of shopping on the way home and then back in time for a cup of tea.

This afternoon we then made Hot Chocolate Reindeer shots, which will be handed out to children who visit the home throughout December.

Remembrance Day!!

Such a proud day for all of our residents for Remembrance Sunday, but for one more so in particular. The lovely Ray was all dressed up in his medals to lay a poppy Wreath at the Thorpe War Memorial for The British Legion.

Here is Ray and his friend Dale just before leaving for the parade.

I think we all must agree how smart, proud and truly amazing Ray looked today...Proud moment for all the residents and staff at the Warren too.

Watching the Parade on the TV was also very tiring for Alfie the dog too. It's a hard life Alfie
