Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Hello, My name is Tanya and I am the Lifestyle Leader here at Vecta House.
I started work at Vecta in June 2018 as part of the housekeeping team. I have worked as part of Activities Team for over a year and have grown very passionate in ensuring our residents have stimulating, life enriching activities available every day. I feel proud knowing I have brought smiles and laughter to our residents and love working with the great team we have here at Vecta House.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Vecta House Care Home
Flower Arranging
Residents had a lovely morning making beautiful flower arrangements in our weekly flower arranging class.
Music Workshop
Residents enjoyed a visit from Tony at independent arts who delivered a music workshop. Residents loved singing and dancing to some classic old tunes.
Vectis Historic Vehicle club
Residents enjoyed a visit from our local car group Vectis Historic Vehicle club, a classic car show was held at Vecta house where residents enjoyed looking at come classic cars and even got to sit in them. A lovely afternoon had by all.
Jubilee Celebrations
Celebrating the queens Platinum Jubilee in true vecta house style with a street party! With music from Ricky and a buffet tea with homemade cakes. Although a little chilly everyone had fun. Congratulations your Majesty! Another busy day at Vecta House, we have been decorating the home for our queens platinum Jubilee. Followed with the Royal tea party this afternoon.
Father's Day
Happy Father’s day to all our Dads and Grandads here at Vecta House. We had a fun filled day playing games Darts, Bowls, Dominos and more. Whilst enjoying special refreshments and music.
Easter Activities
Residents at Vecta House enjoyed an eggs-tensive range of Easter activities that were very messy but also a lot of fun to do. We made sweet treats to enjoy eating later in the day, arts and crafts but the best of all the activities was the messiest of them all. We call it paint pouring (this is when you add a mixture of paint in a pot then slowly pour it over your item of choice ie coasters, polystyrene eggs and bunnies). Residents and staff had a fun filled Easter weekend, they tucked in to a delicious Easter meal of roast lamb followed by Easter cake prepared by the home’s head chef, Chris Selway, and then we all enjoyed an Easter egg from the Easter bunny. Our amazing staff joined in with an Easter cake competition and there were some stunners!
