Activities at Vecta House Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Making Mike's Dream Come True

Mike was in the RAF and a keen glider pilot and loves to reminisce about his time flying. Mike told the activities team he would love to go flying again so the team set to work contacting their local airport who were more than happy to make Mike's dream come true. Mike had a fantastic day it just goes to show you are never to old!

International Nurses Day

To celebrate international nurses day, nurses were given a thank you gift by our resident Gill who is a former nurse herself.

Nurses also enjoyed delicious cake made by our chef.

Thank you to all nurses for the amazing work they do!

Gardening Club with Little Helpers

We gathered together with the local primary school children for our gardening club and the weather couldn’t have been better. The children potted plants with our residents to display in the school and in our homes gardens. Our residents love visits from the children and to create new memories.

A Feast fit for a King

The whole home joined together for the kings Coronation. Staff, residents, families and friends came together to celebrate this special day.

Everybody enjoyed a delicious spread with a glass of fizz made by our kitchen team while watching the ceremony on TV.

We enjoyed singing and dancing to live music and having great fun in our very own royal photo both.

Residents visited the local garden centre to look at the wide variety of plants and met a very friendly cat along the way who loved attention from our residents. We finished the morning with a delicious lemon cake and chocolate milkshake.
