Activities at Ritson Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Ritson Lodge Care Home

Natter Hatters

Natter Hatters

Our most recent knit & natter session was as successful as ever. We made lots of baby hats for the local hospital, and residents are always keen to make them for each other.

Music Club

Music Club

Our most recent music club was very busy. Residents and staff enjoyed singing along and playing musical instruments. Fruit mocktails with fancy straws were available and lots of family members joined us as well.

Summer Fun

Summer Fun

We have been enjoying the summer here at Ritson Lodge by playing lots of board games. We have had fruit mocktails, ice creams and lollies, in addition to having plenty of singalongs.

A Work of Heart

A Work of Heart

This is a Craft Club member creating a bird feeders in our most recent session. We also made bird feeder rings in all different colours and sizes to put outside residents' rooms and to give some to their families as well. Everyone enjoyed this session and loved the cake and tea that followed it as well.

Summer Fête

We do lots of charity work here at Ritson and the locals always come in to help, along with family members. Residents come down to have a look around and we have a singer perform for everyone. It's always such a nice treat.

Lound Hall Fête

This is our stall for Lound Hall Fête. We had to make a scarecrow for the day that was musically-themed, so we chose to do The Bearded Lady from The Greatest Showman.

Everyone came to our stall to have a good look at her, and our new bubble machine was a really good eye-catcher. We made cakes with the Barchester logo on for a treat and were going to give them away, but people asked how much they were, so we sold them and the money went to charity.

Lots of the staff came down to support the event on their days off to help promote the home. We had lots of lovely chats with the public and there were also few people interested in coming to some of our groups that are open to the public, such as the Knit & Natter club.
