Activities at Ritson Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Rita Matusebiciute

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Rita and I am the Activities Coordinator.

I have many years of experience in Activities and I have been with Barchester since 2018. I previously worked in Chelsea in another Care Home working with all of the West End stars!

I love being part of the Ritson team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting and varied activities available every week. Learning about the residents and including their interests, hobbies and life experiences into the activities that we provide is one of the most rewarding aspects of working here. I am always one of the first to introduce myself to new residents so that we can chat about what kind of activities they enjoy.

Making a Scarecrow

We were getting all ready for our Hopton Scarecrow Competition today. So lots of mess and laughter. I have a sneaky suspicion they are up to something as I was told to keep away!

Thank you to Beehive Farm Livery for donating us plenty of straw.
So many laughs this morning, such a fun day, we even noticed straw in our hair! We can’t wait for it to be finished.

Lennie's perfect day

Lennie and Jean became good friends over their love of Norwich City FC.
Lennies wish was to go back to where he grew up and lived.
We visited his sister at Gorleston life boat station and had lunch and beer at his favourite local pub where he surprisingly bumped in to his old gang of friends.
On top of this we have been on National TV This Morning..... Celebrating Gorleston being the best beach in the country.️
And to finish it all off we had ice creams on the beach and took the bus home.
What a fantastic day!!!
The way Lennie remembered all the streets, all the buildings and invited someone to show this to is remarkable..... such a change.

Amazing! Who will we pick next for a Ritson wish journey? Staff and residents on this day felt on top of the world

Visiting the Local Pub

What a brilliant time at our local pub: The White Hart

Residents from Ritson thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Walk, lunch, amazing service and great time. We always get a lovely welcome from the staff, and it makes our pub lunch extra special. We always feel fantastic and full up when we leave.
We're already planning our next meal at the White Hart

Residents talk abut the war with School Children

Today June and Ron were asked to visit Hopton School to talk and answer questions about World War II. The children all enjoyed the experience of talking to real people about the war and their experience of the war as children of similar age to themselves now.

The toddlers came to visit!

We have toddlers group twice a month and this time it fell in the school holiday so some of the toddlers brought their brothers and sisters along too. Residents enjoyed showing the children our home grown herbs and even had the children watering the plants. Residents said it was fantastic to have the big children join us too and can’t wait to see the children again soon as it’s always a fun morning full of singing dancing and smiles.
