Activities at Ottley House Care Home
At Ottley House, we offer a person-centred activities programme, and aim to match residents' abilities and interests with meaningful activities of the correct degree of challenge that promotes their health and well-being. We also provide visual, tactile, audible and olfactory sensory experiences. There are weekly music/movement therapy sessions, 'Oomph' sessions, and arts & crafts classes to help improve, maintain and refine motor skills. We enjoy regular visits from entertainers, musicians and animal therapists, as well as pub nights, 'food from around the world' days, and minibus outings to places of interest.
Cath Smallman
Hi, I'm Cath, the Activities Coordinator here at Ottley House. My days are spent making sure that the residents in the home have an interesting and active social programme to enjoy each day. Residents individual preferences are considered all the time in a person centred approach and I welcome feedback from families too.

Pizza Making with a Twist
We had a quiz using different coloured circles to help with visual impairment, and every correct answer earned a different coloured 'pizza' circle. The winner was the first one to finish making their pizza.
Celebrating 15 Years
Congratulations to Laundry Assistant, Melissa Smallman, who recently received her 15 year Long Service Award from General Manager, Davina McLoughlin. Incredibly, Mel has been with us ever since she left school.
Pet Therapy
Everyone enjoys seeing Murphy every time he comes to say hello – and he likes the attention too!
Murphy makes sure that all residents, staff and visitors that want to say hello get to see him – he won’t leave until everyone is happy!
Murphy makes regular visits to the home and we look forward to seeing him again soon.
Teapot Tuesday
Our local fire service popped in during Teapot Tuesday for a chat over a cuppa and a piece of cake. We hold Teapot Tuesday every week for residents and guests to get together for a chat, followed by either a singalong or a quiz.
Christmas Day at Ottley House
Everyone was full of Christmas cheer on Christmas Day as we celebrated by giving out presents to the residents that had been left for them by 'Santa'! We wish you all a happy New Year.
10 Years of Service
General Manager, Davina McLoughlin, presented Care Assistant, Angela Hadlington, with her flowers, pin and voucher in recognition of her 10th year at Ottley House.
Angela is a credit to the home and her dedication shows, as she is loved by all staff, residents and visitors.
