Activities at Ottley House Care Home

At Ottley House, we offer a person-centred activities programme, and aim to match residents' abilities and interests with meaningful activities of the correct degree of challenge that promotes their health and well-being. We also provide visual, tactile, audible and olfactory sensory experiences. There are weekly music/movement therapy sessions, 'Oomph' sessions, and arts & crafts classes to help improve, maintain and refine motor skills. We enjoy regular visits from entertainers, musicians and animal therapists, as well as pub nights, 'food from around the world' days, and minibus outings to places of interest.

Cath Smallman

Activities Coordinator

Hi, I'm Cath, the Activities Coordinator here at Ottley House. My days are spent making sure that the residents in the home have an interesting and active social programme to enjoy each day. Residents individual preferences are considered all the time in a person centred approach and I welcome feedback from families too.

Life at Ottley House Care Home

Ladies Day

Ladies Day

Residents spent the morning decorating hats to celebrate Ladies Day at Cheltenham. Not that it was just for Ladies to enjoy—all were welcome! We then had a visitor judge the best dressed, and the winner was presented with an early Easter egg.

St David's Day

St David's Day

With daffodils beginning to bloom, we honours the patron saint with some delicious Welch cake and plenty of tea.

Cheese & Wine Afternoon

We showed off our stylish new look with a cheese and wine afternoon. The hospitality team provided complimentary refreshments, whilst management were on hand to give our visitors a guided tour of the home.

National Real Bread Day

National Real Bread Day

Local bakery, Bakehouse & Co., kindly donated some lovely freshly baked bread for residents to try. Everyone enjoyed sampling the bread and washed them down with a refreshing cup of tea.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day

Everyone was feeling the love this Valentine’s Day. Cupid was very busy, as all staff and residents received sweets and chocolates and had a card from a secret admirer to open.

Farmer John

Farmer John

Farmer John has been here before and always puts on a great performance, singing a variety of songs from different eras.
