Activities at Mount Vale Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from PAT dogs, entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Nutrition Week at Mount Vale

Nutrition Week at Mount Vale

We recently celebrated Nutrion Week here at Mount Vale with an afternoon tea party! Our head chef made lots of lovely food for the afternoon which was suitable for those on a modified diet as well!

Art Exhibition at Mount Vale

Art Exhibition at Mount Vale

We recently had an Art Exhibition which showcased art from local artists and even some of our residents. This was a huge success and we had lots of local artists show their work and had lots of visitors come into the Exhibition to view and buy their work.

We had all the Art work up the stairs and made full use of our function rooms.

Richard Gilmore Douglas is a well known artist in the Methodist community, known best for his art work on John Wesley. Richard is a resident in the home. Richard had his picture taken for the newspaper and enjoyed displaying his work for visitors to see.

Kathleen Frier is a resident in the home. Kathleen does cross stitching art work. After she showed us her wonderful work we decided we just had to have it displayed in our Exhibition.

David Hughes is also a resident at the home. His sister Ann had come to stay the weekend as she was interested in viewing and displaying in our Art Exhibition. This photo shows the two stood by her work in the reception area of our home.

The mayor came to visit our Art Exhibition. We had our photo taken with him at the top of the staircase.

Ann, David Hughes’s sister displayed her art work in our reception area. Ann used to be a welder and created many fantastic and contemporary pieces of work in materials such as Metal and Wood. Ann also painted pictures in various styles. It was a pleasure to display her work.
