Activities at Mount Vale Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from PAT dogs, entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

A great visit from Aquatic Finatic

We had a great visit from Aquatic Finatic as usual, our furry, feathered and scaly friends delighted our Residents who couldn’t wait to have a hold.
We have pet therapy on a regular basis here at Mount Vale alongside our usual daily activities. We like to keep things interesting!
Another lovely afternoon.

Royal Parks London

Across our services our residents have enjoyed a wonderful live virtual talk about starlings, one of the UK’s most gregarious birds, hosted by Rachel Dowse from The Royal Parks London.

Rachel examined our long history with this bird and the importance of common species to our lives. Our residents had the opportunity to find out more about the great murmuration and why we need to pay special attention to these beauties before it's too late.

The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.

103rd birthday celebrations

Celebrations have been in full swing at Mount Vale Care Home, as one of its residents reaches beyond her centenary in style.  Marian Macey was joined by staff and other residents as she received recognition of reaching 103 years. A celebration was held at the home and residents enjoyed a special birthday cake made by the home’s chef Dana Narkeviciene.  Paul Cornfoot, Deputy Mayor of Northallerton and Marian’s family attended th the celebrations, bringing gifts of flowers/

Mount Vale's Christmas Party

This year's Christmas Party has been brilliant! Residents have enjoyed spending time together. We all ate, drank and were very merry! There was lots of singing too! We can't wait for the big day now.

Christine Celebrates 10 Years with Barchester

We celebrated Christine’s 10 years of service with Barchester this week. Christine was presented with a £250.00 shopping voucher, a long service pin and flowers from our general manager Helen Lewis.

Christine is one of our nurses here at mount vale. Christine is a very respected nurse and loved by everyone.

The bells ring out at Mount Vale

The bells rang out at Mount Vale as Northallerton Hand Bell Ringers hosted their first concert of the year for our Residents and their families and friends.  Staff and residents at Barchester’s Mount Vale Care Home, in Northallerton, got in the Christmas spirit by inviting families and friends to come and join in with the Bell Ringers to sing along with some festive Christmas favourites.

There was mulled wine and mince pies all prepared by Head Chef, Danny to get everyone feeling festive.
