Activities at Mount Vale Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from PAT dogs, entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Louise Chapman
Hi my name is Louise I have been working at Mount Vale since 2010. I am the activities co-ordinator, I am here to promote the wellbeing of our residents and ensure they have a variety of activities to get involved in. I love finding new creative ways to engage our residents and involve our local community.
I am a dementia champion for the home and enjoy continuing to learn and find more things I can do to help promote the wellbeing of our residents.
I love spending time with each individual getting to know them so I can add individual needs into our plans. I love building strong relationships with our residents and families.
I am a crafty person and can be found doing diamond arts and lots of other creative things when I am not at work. I love spending time with my family and going for walks with my dog Dottie and cuddling my cat Loki.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Mount Vale Care Home

Live entertainment
Residents of Mount Vale enjoyed a live performance by popular entertainer, Chris Grill who brought his Christmas show to the home.
Chris sung a medley of classic hits that had us all dancing and singing along too and spreading festive cheer throughout the home.

Christmas Day
Here at Mount Vale we had a fantastic Christmas Day, which involved themed movies, singing and dancing, family visits followed by a beautiful festive lunch with turkey, roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, puddings and cakes.
In the morning we welcomed Father Christmas and his elves from the North Pole, who brought gifts to all our residents - everyone was busy opening their presents and enjoying a glass of bubbly before the festive feast, prepared by our talented chef and kitchen team.

Meeting the Reindeers
Across our homes we got into the Christmas spirit of things by joining a festive live virtual experience, led by Des and Kelly from Performing Pets.
Our residents were thrilled to meet the charming furry friends and get up close and personal with the reindeers.
We certainly learnt some interesting facts about the animals and had a fantastic time.

A Christmas Wish
One of our gentleman wished to visit our local Strikes Garden Centre to take a look at the Festive decorations and plan what plants we could use in the home for a festive touch.
Our Gardner Rick shared knowledge on plants, particularly interesting was his knowledge about the “Venus Fly Trap”.
The trip finished with a good brew and cake.

Northallerton Methodist Church Choir
Thank you to our friends from Northallerton Methodist Church Choir for a wonderful afternoon of traditional Christmas carols and readings .
Staff and residents got into the festive mood and the kitchen provided delicious fruit mince pies and mulled wine adding to the festive cheer.

Jingle Bells
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells. Oh what fun we had enjoying the wonderful Northallerton Handbell Ringers performance.
Residents, their families and Staff enjoyed the festive atmosphere, followed by mince pies and mulled wine.
Thank you to the Northallerton Handbell Ringers for a lovely afternoon.
