Activities at Mount Vale Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from PAT dogs, entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Louise Chapman
Hi my name is Louise I have been working at Mount Vale since 2010. I am the activities co-ordinator, I am here to promote the wellbeing of our residents and ensure they have a variety of activities to get involved in. I love finding new creative ways to engage our residents and involve our local community.
I am a dementia champion for the home and enjoy continuing to learn and find more things I can do to help promote the wellbeing of our residents.
I love spending time with each individual getting to know them so I can add individual needs into our plans. I love building strong relationships with our residents and families.
I am a crafty person and can be found doing diamond arts and lots of other creative things when I am not at work. I love spending time with my family and going for walks with my dog Dottie and cuddling my cat Loki.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Mount Vale Care Home

Lavender bags
We have beautiful gardens and grounds here at Mount Vale, so as our Lavender Plants are so beautiful we are gathering it up at the moment ready to make Lavender bags to sell at our Alzheimer’s Tea Party. Nettie and other Residents have been enjoying harvesting the Lavender as it smells so amazing.

Singing through the 50s
We had another fabulous show from Cat’s Pyjamas Productions. We had songs from the ages starting at the 50’s through to the 70’s and outfits to match!
Residents were all singing along while reminiscing about where they were along the years.
We all had a wonderful afternoon. Carol and other Entertainers come several times a month running alongside our Daily Activities schedule.

Thelma and Bambi
I really don’t need to say anything about this picture but this is what a happy and contented face looks like.
Thelma adores Bambi and has to have her visit every time she’s in the home.
Bambi sits on Thelma’s bed keeps her company and gives her a wash which makes Thelma giggle each time!
Bambi is a miniature Chihuahua and has been coming to work with our activities co-ordinator Becky for nearly 7 years now. Bambi often takes a stroll round the rooms, some rooms more than others as she knows who saves her treats and biscuits!

Celebrating 15 Years of Service
We would like to say a huge congratulations to our senior career Louise who today is celebrating 15 years’ service on memory lane, here at Mount Vale.
Louise is a great team member, going above and beyond for our residents.
Louise received flowers, a pin and £250.00 in vouchers presented by our general manager Helen Lewis.
Residents and Staff all appreciate her hard work and dedication.
Well done Louise.

Family Fun Day
We had our Family Fun Day here at Mount Vale, and what a fun day it was.
We had Hook a Duck, Chocolate and Wine Hoopla, a Coconut Shy and lots more fun games. Families and Friends got together and enjoyed an afternoon of Pimm’s and homemade sweet treats.
Smiles and lots of laughter was the order of the day and even a singalong with a ukulele!
Our Chef Dana did a fantastic job once again making some delicious shortbread with Mount Vale embossed on them which was the talk of the day.

London 'Herstory'
Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.
We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas. The experience was truly enjoyed by all.
