Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

New Exercise Class from GFitness

Moreton Hill residents enjoyed a trial session from GFitness. We are always looking for new activities for our residents and many local Barchester homes have GFitness classes. The company started in Gloucestershire and now work across the UK providing specialist classes for older people and those with disabilities. We welcomed Martha who bought some equipment and very much knew the right music to get us all moving. Everyone really enjoyed the session.

Relaxing PAT Dogs Visit

This weekend's visit from Lizzy and Ruby was wonderfully relaxed, we love to see the dogs laughing as well! Thank you as always to Gaby for bringing them in and for your time, everyone at Moreton Hill loves to see you all.

Residents Present Art Work for Stonehouse in Bloom

Moreton Hill were delighted to welcome Pam Swaine and Debbie Curtis from Stonehouse in Bloom to present the resident's paintings for this exciting project. The brief for this year’s Stonehouse in Bloom was something you would find in the garden. The paintings will be on display in the town, which is a UK Finalist in Britain in Bloom. It is wonderful to be part of this community project and we will be visiting the town regularly to view the stunning displays.

Accordion Music Around the Home

Moreton Hill are very fortunate to have regular visits from volunteer Mike Gardner playing a wonderful variety of tunes on his accordion. Mike is also great with the residents who love his visits. There was lots of toe tapping, clapping and dancing along to the music. Thank you so much Mike.

Resident Poem for Italian Day

It was Italian Day at Moreton Hill and Moira our Resident Ambassador and resident poet summed it up brilliantly with her poem entitled "Special Day"

We are going on an Italian holiday

So Parliamo Italiano

A few words I do know

No doubt Jackie will teach me a few more

That I didn’t know before

I think she is arranging a treat

There may be food to eat!

Come together friends, whatever the weather

It’s good to have fun together

Green Fingered Residents

The Moreton Hill gardening club is always popular and our green fingered residents have created beautiful displays in the courtyard. We very much look forward to the array of colour, scents and blooms over the coming months.
