Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Moreton Hill Care Home

Local Celebrity

What a great photo of resident Douglas when he attended the judging of Stonehouse in Bloom.  Douglas was quite a celebrity on the day as he used to own a toyshop in the town and people of all ages came up to him and chatted remembering spending their pocket money.

The art work produced by the Moreton Hill residents is on display and we have been asked to paint some caterpillars to add to this so the paint brushes will be out again.

A Bit if a Do.....

Today Moreton Hill had a bit of a do. The hospitality team made a special buffet lunch and with Mike in to entertain residents on his accordian it was a really lovey afternoon with everyone together.

Introducing Moreton Hill's New Resident Ambassador

Moreton Hill are delighted to introduce Roger, our newest Resident Ambassador. Roger was born in Yorkshire moving with the family when he was 15 to Gloucestershire when his father, a Dentist took a new position. Roger attends most activities and is a true gent always assisting others to get the most out of their day. He is always on hand to help set up activities and to carry things from one area of the home to the other and very much enjoys taking part. He loves the cats Vinny & Gerry, always having treats for them and feeding them, they are often comfortably asleep in his room. If the cats are about you usually can’t get Rogers’s attention! He has now added to his animal collection by adopting the dove and feeding him as well. Roger is very much part of the family here at Moreton Hill and is well liked by all. What a lovely photo of Lorna presenting Roger with his Resident Ambassador badge.

Pub Lunch on the Severn

Our gentleman residents enjoyed a wonderful pub lunch at the Anchor Inn in Epney we were made so welcome, they really couldn't do enough for the residents. A pint overlooking the Severn was perfect followed by delicious food. Thank you to the team there, everyone had such a great time.

Relaxing Aroma

There was the most wonderful aroma around Moreton Hill today. Lorna, our Activities Coordinator cut some lavender from her garden and wild grasses from around the home and then residents used the two to make arrangements that could be taken back to their rooms. Everyone was pleased with the posies tied with colourful ribbons. Lavender is known for its relaxing properties, this was a very chilled activity.
