Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Jackie Chillingworth
Hello. I am Jackie, the Lead Activity Co-Ordinator at Moreton Hill. I have worked for Barchester for over 10 years. Now, together with my team and the staff at our beautiful home, our aim is to help all residents live life to the best they can by bringing meaningful and enriching activities into their lives.

Life at Moreton Hill Care Home
Celebrating 10 Years
We celebrated with Sue and Jackie 10 years of commitment and hard work at Barchester/Moreton Hill. They have both received personalised cards, a pin, flowers and numerous congratulations from Residents, colleagues, friends and relatives.
A visit from Wild Science
We all love animals here at Moreton Hill, apart from our 2 great pet cats, we regularly have the opportunity to see and touch exotic animals. Their keepers are ever so knowledgeable and tell us all sorts of fun facts about their pets.
We love a visit from Wild science with their exotic animals and less exotic guinea pigs.
Reminiscing with Families
Emma Crossley visited the home after both her parents lived at Moreton Hill. Emma brought a beautiful card and an amazing hamper for all of our staff. She visited the garden and the lounges where her parents used to watch the views and had lovely conversations with a cup of tea, great reminiscing.
Romanian Day
The 1st of December is Romanian day, and to mark this day, the Peri General Manager and the Ac General Manager dressed up in traditional clothing and served delicious traditional Romanian food, along with traditional music and dance. All of our residents enjoyed the food and embraced the cultures.
A performance from a local school
Residents at Moreton Hill were treated to a fantastic performance from Saint Joseph's catholic school choir. The children visited our residents and performed some amazing songs, filling us all with Christmas spirit.
In return, we set up a lucky dip for the children and spoiled them with Christmas-themed chocolate lollies.
Christmas Light Switch-On
We had a fabulous time at our very own Christmas winter wonderland light switch-on, complete with snow machine. All of our residents got involved and decorated our home. Mike Gardener, a volunteer at our home, played his accordion. Mike played Christmas folk songs and carols for us to sing along to. Everyone had such a lovely time, and it really put us all in the festive spirit!
