Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

The Party Isn't Over!

Moreton Hill continued our Hawaiian Party with a beach games day this week! The photo shoot was very popular with residents and visiting family members some great photos. Everyone also enjoyed playing beach volley ball and had a go at the limbo to music. We finished off with more ice creams with toppings, another fun summer day at Moreton Hill!

Glorious Sunflowers

This morning Moreton Hill residents had a fantastic trip out to Priory Farm Pick Your Own to visit their sunflower field. Every year this local farm in Leonard Stanley plants their sunflower field for locals and wildlife to enjoy. The field is now closed due to the weather the sunflowers are starting to go over, so we are so grateful we were able to still visit thank you Emma, as you can see from the photos the residents really enjoyed their visit. What a stunning field in this beautiful location we are so lucky to have so nearby.

Wild Science Visit

What a different afternoon today thanks to Barbara from Wild Science who bought in a selection of animals and gave us all an informative talk.  All rescued previously we were introduced to Wednesday the rabbit, Mortisha the millipede, Morg the bearded dragon and a banana snake!

The residents had lots of questions for Barbara. Neil really liked the snake, while Roger and Moira were fascinated by the bearded dragon. All the residents wanted to handle the unusual animals and we are sure you will love all the photos. Thank you to Wild Science and the activities team for another great idea.

Hawaiian Party

What a wonderful Hawaiian day at Moreton Hill today, it was action packed and great fun. The activities team decorated the dining room and it really was tropical just as their shirts were! It was great to see the bright colours from clothing to decorations.

Stuart and the hospitality team put together a special summer menu, greatly enjoyed by all. A full house then had a good sing along with Stroud Ukulele band, opening with "Bring Me Sunshine", Thank you so much to this group local group of volunteers for adding sunshine to our residents.

Tea, cake and ice cream followed and Lorna couldn't scoop fast enough! With Jelly Tots and sauces everyone absolutely loved it and no wonder there was such a queue! It is always a pleasure when family and friends can attend our events.

Thank you to all the Moreton Hill team for today.

Melody Makers Al Fresco

Residents enjoyed Melody Makers in the courtyard, although sunny there is plenty of shade so we are able to take advantage of being outside. Everyone was in good voice as we sang some favourites.
