Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Minibus trip to the local pub
Residents decided that they wanted to go to the local pub for a drink. When they were at the pub they were able to share stories with each other.
Robert mentioned how when he used to go to the pub when he was young they would pay £2 to go into a kitty and then at Christmas be given all the money to enjoy on Christmas Day.
It is always so lovely when residents reminisce and share their stories with each other.

Mount Everest Base Camp Documentary
Bibesh our Activities Co-Ordinator is always asking our residents what they would like to do and quite a few mentioned about watching documentaries on places of interest. The first documentary they all enjoyed was on a trek to Mount Everest Base Camp. Bibesh also shared about his experience in Nepal on the very same route.
The residents really enjoyed the documentary but also getting to hear about Bibesh's experience as well and look forward to watching the next one.

October Employee of the Month
Each month at Moors Manor, we like to recognise the fantastic work that our staff do and choose a winner for Employee of the Month.
October's winner is Nicole Willis who is our Community Care Lead in the home. We asked our General Manager Jenna why she choose Nicole "For being polite, helpful and being an asset to the team. Nicole comes to work with a smile on her face and gives the best she can."
Well done from all at Moors Manor.

Halloween Seated Exercise
We had Kate from Love to Move this week for her exercise class, but as it was Halloween we all had a bit of fun with the spiders, pumpkins that Kate had brought in with her. It wasn't too scary for our residents here but we all had a bit of fun with it.

Ladies minibus outing
Trips on the mini bus are always a great way to get some fresh air and of course, enjoy delicious cake! Deputy manager Gemma and Bibesh enjoyed taking Marjorie, Maisie and Val out.

Marjorie's 96th Birthday
Marjorie celebrated her 96th Birthday at the home. Her family surprised her with a beautiful cake! Marjorie was so pleased with her cards and presents. We are so lucky to have Marjorie as part of our lovely community of residents.
