Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Scrabble with Steve
We do enjoy our visits with Steve and his giant scrabble board. Residents got into two teams and got very competitive to see who can come up with the highest spelling word. It's a great way of getting the thinking caps going and also lots of fun as well.
We look forward to welcoming Steve back on his next visit to the home.

Visit to Bournemouth Christmas Tree Wonderland
Residents enjoyed a trip into Bournemouth town centre to visit the Christmas Tree Wonderland. Residents and staff had a brilliant time walking through Bournemouth gardens to look at all the different Christmas Trees and lights displayed and then finished the outing by enjoying a lovely cup of hot chocolate.

Christmas Day 2023
We had a wonderful time here at Moors Manor on Christmas Day. Residents all received a present from the home delivered by general manager Jenna and admin manager Gemma. Residents were very happy with their presents which ranged from slippers, scarfs, toiletries, arts and crafts and puzzles.
Before everyone enjoyed the beautiful Christmas dinner the kitchen team had prepared we enjoyed some singing and dancing while having a glass of sherry and mince pie. A really enjoyable day for all residents, their families and members of staff who were working as well.

Staff festive Bake Off
We had a bit of fun in the home this week with a "Staff Festive Bake Off" we had shortbread, truffles, mince pies and mince tart, florentines, millionaire shortbread and a puff pastry Christmas Tree all enter.
Residents were our judges and were looking for best taste and best looking. They enjoyed all the entries and found it hard to choose, but our winner was Karina who made lovely chocolate truffles which won in both categories.

Helpful Hounds festive visit
We had Helpful Hounds come into the home for pet therapy for our residents and they thought they would all dress for the festive season as well.
Our residents really do enjoy dogs coming into the home, it always brings a smile to everyone's faces. We do look forward to seeing them again in the New Year.

All Saints Church Service
We welcomed All Saints St Leonard's & St Ives Church to the home to do a church service for our residents. Residents in the home were wanting the chance to be able to follow their religious beliefs and were able to do this. It was enjoyed by everyone that attended and we look forward to welcoming them again into the home.
