Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Moors Manor Care Home
Christmas Switch on
To celebrate our first Christmas we asked our founder resident to do the honours of switching on our Christmas lights.
We all got together and sang songs, enjoyed mulled wine/cider and started on the mince pies.
Winter Wonderland
We took a lovely trip to Stewarts at Broomhill, the residents went through the Winter Wonderland and got to have a nice chat with Father Christmas.
Beach Ball Fun
We took a break from making Christmas Decorations to have a game with the beach ball.
There was lots of laughter and fun had by the residents and the team!
Children In Need
Our residents and the chef made cakes for Children In Need which our parent and toddler group enjoyed sampling! The staff all dressed up and we had a silly day making Pudsey ears and playing games
Remembrance Day
Our residents enjoyed a visit from the local school who lead us in a prayer and read us some poems. We also welcomed the mayor and the Royal British Legion along. The children laid some poppies to add to our poppy display from local businesses and the community as well as our own poppies made by our residents.
Fireworks
We enjoyed our first firework party at the home, relatives come along to join their loved ones to watch the display followed by hot dogs, jacket potato with chilli and a beautiful rainbow cake.
