Activities at Moors Manor Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.

I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.

When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.

I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Celebrating a 63rd Wedding Anniversary

What a beautiful day to celebrate a 63rd wedding anniversary! Resident John and his wife Valerie enjoyed a beautiful lunch sitting on the balcony in our memory lane and were also joined by son and grandson to mark this very special occasion.

Happy Anniversary John and Valerie from all of us here at Moors Manor.

Visit from the Little Learners Nursery

This week was the start of some very special visitors coming along to Moors Manor, we had The Little Learners Nursery. They will be coming in to the home a couple of times each month to visit the residents and as you can see by the photos both residents and children had a wonderful time.

Children bring so much fun and happiness and residents said it was the highlight of the week for them and they look forward to seeing the children again. We are sure as the visits continue the relationships between the residents and children will grow as well and they will both be able to learn from each other.

Health and Wellness Event in the community

Residents went to the local village hall to attend the Health and Wellness event that we had organised for the local community.

Residents were able to enjoy a leg and foot massage from The Healthful Mind Clinic in West Moors and thoroughly enjoyed this, so much so they all had a little nap when they got back to the home. They also got to meet with the other stall holders and then joined in the raffle where Rita won a prize as well.

This weeks art class

Our weekly art class is getting very popular in the activities room. Everyone all enjoyed the adult colouring session and created some lovely art to then have in their rooms. Art can be really relaxing and therapeutic as well but you can also see in some of the photos the concentration as well.

Stretch your mind!

It's so important to keep the mind active and what better way to do this than with a word search. Residents all had their thinking caps on and Pam found the most with 14 different words.

Noughts and crosses competition

Who doesn't love a game of noughts and crosses especially when you get rather competitive as well. Resident Pam was the overall winner with Rita a close second. We do love playing board games as it brings lots of fun and laughter as well.
