Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home
We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Life at Middletown Grange Care Home
Village Scarecrow Competition
The residents at Middletown Grange really enjoyed participating in the Hailey Village Scarecrow Competition. 'Celebrities' was the theme this year; we chose to make Marilyn Monroe.
Carers Week
In celebration of Carers Week, our wonderful carers were treated to a socially distanced staff party. We enjoyed a buffet, complete with curry, cakes and alcohol-free prosecco.
Time in the Garden
Residents at Middletown Grange always enjoy getting out into the garden for some fresh air. We are blessed with lovely grounds, which are kept beautifully by the residents and staff. We have been playing lots of games in the garden recently whilst enjoying ice lollies and homemade strawberry milkshakes.
Smile Board
Our lovely smile board is really cheering us all up. We have received letters, pictures and cards from the local community. They mean so much to our residents and staff. Thank you.
National Tea Day
Residents and staff enjoyed celebrating the Queen’s birthday as well as National Tea Day. We enjoyed a selection of wonderful teas, cakes and biscuits which we enjoyed in the garden on a nice sunny day over a quiz.
Happy Birthday!
Rene was joined by staff and friends at Middletown Grange, in addition to her family over Skype for a special garden party to celebrate her 100th birthday in style. Telegram was also received by the Queen.
Rene said she felt very fortunate to have turned 100 and that her secret to living such a long and healthy life is to eat an apple a day!
