Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home
We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Quiz Time
Quiz time is always fun time at Middletown Grange. Our clever residents love challenging their minds. Today's winner was lovely resident 'Doreen'.
If you have a quiz sheet to share, please post the Q&A's or email Teri-Ann on Middletown.Activities@barchester.com we're always looking for exciting new questions.
Remembering VE Day
On Saturday, 8th May to remember VE Day, we spent time together reminiscing with pictures, poems and quizzes, challenging ourselves on all things from the 1940's. The arts & crafts groups painted images for our VE Day inspired display boards, before we all relaxed with afternoon Tea & Cake in the lounges; listening to wartime tunes, and watching news reels from the day's celebrations 76 years ago.
National Flower Arranging Day
Our ladies really loved today's flower arranging with Teri-Ann, the beautiful blooms were trimmed and placed in amazing colour combinations to create wonderful displays for their friends and staff to enjoy around the home. Well done ladies, they look and smell delightful.
Fabulous Flapjacks
As part of our 'Daily Living' activities schedule, several of our ladies enjoyed following the recipe and making Flapjacks earlier today. They felt it such a fun and easily recipe to follow, and once cooked...Believe us they're delicious!
Magical Aqua Painting
During our morning arts & crafts session, our residents really enjoy the magical aqua paints; seeing each colourful image appear gives them a real sense of achievement.
Magnetic Jigsaws
When it’s too wet for a garden walk our memory lane residents can still plan their vegetable plots with these wonderful 'Relish' Magnetic Puzzles.
We have several different activity boards all designed to aid and improve the overall wellbeing of our residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
