Activities at Melbourn Springs Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is a major focus of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat will always be welcomed.

August Fun!

It's been a busy few days at Melbourn Springs! We have enjoyed lots of activities including games in the garden, making fairy cakes, playing bowls with celeriac and potatoes that often bounced off in different directions causing lots of oohs, aahs and laughter and being mesmerised by the wonderful sounding Tom Huttlestone!

Eileen said 'What a lovely young man! He's a good singer too!' I think her smile says it all!

We loved looking at all the tropical fish in Scotsdales and the ladies enjoyed a bit of window shopping at Coton Orchard.

Marley always wins over everyone's hearts at Play dates and it has been lovely to spend time out in the garden!

Joyce became the lucky mascot for a player in a bowls team from Hitchin when we visited Melbourn Bowls Club. A busy and enjoyable week!

Let's see what this week brings!

Friday Fun Day !

Friday's trips out and about for our memory lane and residential communities - Bury Lane cafe and garden centre & the Melbourn Hub.

The ladies enjoyed a cuppa and a chat in our local farm shop before having a wander through the plants and gift section.

Our lovely activities ladies, Justine & Siobhan also took a few of our memory lane residents out to the Melbourn Hub for coffee and some social chit chat in the local community.

It's so important to keep the residents engaged in our local community and continue to take them out and about engaging in some good conversation and taking new opportunities.
