Activities at Lydfords Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Hello,

I'm Sue and I am one of the Activity Coordinators here at Lydfords!

As part of the Lifestyle Enrichment team I will be organising daily activities & I am responsible for keeping everyone busy and engaged in and around our beautiful home and gardens, as well as getting out and about as much as possible.

I will ensure our residents have varied activities to choose from each day.

East Hoathly Church of England School PTA AGM

At Lydfords we are keen to engage with and make connections with our local community.

Last night we hosted the East Hoathly Church of England School PTA AGM meeting.

It was lovely to meet everyone and we look forward to our planned intergenerational events in the near future.

Planning for Care Advice Event

The locally community were invited in to Lydfords to meet with SOLLA (Society of Later Life Advisors) Accredited Financial Advisor, Peter Morris of Cranwells Wealth Solutions, who discussed how to plan for care. Topics included what it means to have a Power of Attorney, and how to manage care fees. All of the attendees told us how helpful the session had been and we hope to hold more again in the near future.

East Hoathly Carnival Society Meeting

Yesterday evening we had the pleasure of hosting the East Hoathly & Halland Carnival Society meeting at Lydfords.

Our head chef Enrico prepared some delicious refreshments for all.

It was lovely to meet you all and we look forward to hosting you again soon!

National Neighbours Day

To celebrate National Neighbours Day, we ran a Facebook competition for one lucky, local person to win a luxury hamper, including a bottle of Champagne. Here is our winner picking up her prizes from Lydfords this week. Congratulations Claire!

Village Lunch Club East Hoathly

Yesterday Home Services Advisor Laura went to The Village Lunch Club at East Hoathly to meet Maz Beal & the wonderful team and to help out.
