Activities at Hunters Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ben Sandall

Activities Coordinator

Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters.  I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity.  I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Retiring After over 40 Years Working in Care

Today we all bid a fond farewell to one of our most faithful members of the care team Linda Strachan. Linda is retiring after entering into the care profession in 1976. Hunters has been lucky to have had the services of Linda for the last four years but now it is time for her to pursue pastures new and take a well-deserved break. We would all like to wish Linda the best of luck you will be missed by us all.

G Fitness Exercise Class

At Hunters we try to encourage everyone to stay as fit and as active as possible, but also with the emphasis on having some fun at the same time. Today Matt from G Fitness put everyone through their paces with his seated exercise routine which is designed to improve flexibility and mobility.

Memory Lane Water Feature

There’s always a project going on here at Hunters. Chrissie and Malcolm from the maintenance team have been busy making and assembling a new water feature for our Memory Lane courtyard garden. The sound of bubbling water is very soothing and relaxing and will add an extra dimension to the garden for the summer months.

Employee of the Month

Congratulations to our Head of Maintenance Darren Jones who has been named employee of the month here at Hunters. Darren is always on hand to ensure the safe and effective running of the home and always willing to go the extra mile to help out no matter what the circumstances and keep everyone safe.

Birthday Weekend

Happy Birthday at Hunters. Over the weekend we celebrated two special Birthdays and St George's Day, the team always pull out all of the stops to make each residents feel special on their Birthday.  Alison from our catering team did a great job decorating the dining room in patriotic flags of St George and wearing her own dragon costume, luckily for us Hunters' Dragon was very friendly and we all lived to fight another day.
