Activities at Hunters Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ben Sandall

Activities Coordinator

Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters.  I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity.  I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Hunters Celebrate Queen's Platinum Jubilee in Style

Hunters celebrated the Jubilee in style today, we had a fabulous day. Residents enjoyed a barbeque lunch, they then joined family and friends for a fun filled afternoon. Everyone enjoyed the live singing, afternoon tea and ice creams as well as meeting the visiting donkeys. It was a perfect afternoon with loved ones to mark this momentous occasion.

A big thank you to the Hunters team who made this event possible, your hard work was so appreciated.

Celebrating International Nurses Day

Today at Hunters we have been celebrating International Nurses Day. Residents and staff got together to show their appreciation to all of our wonderful nurses and to thank them for all of their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Head Chef Leo prepared a delicious cake and there was a small glass of bubbly for everyone to enjoy. The nurses all received a thank you card, a certificate of appreciation presented by Resident Ambassador Bobby and their own bottle of bubbly to take home.

Relaxing in the Sun

The Residents from our Memory Lane community have been enjoying the morning sun in the courtyard garden. The garden is totally enclosed and provides a safe haven for all. We all enjoy some fresh air and time outside but for the residents it is an important part of maintaining health and wellbeing, promoting mental health and with the sun also providing essential vitamins warm sunny mornings are just too good to miss. The ladies enjoying their morning chat certainly look happy and content.

Lawn Boules in the Sun

This afternoon there was a very French atmosphere to the home with the residents enjoying the warm weather and some fresh air with a game of lawn boules. As ever everybody took part in good spirit with just a small edge of competitiveness. The marvelous Hilda at 106 years of age finished runner up in the competition, well done Hilda.
