Activities at Hunters Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ben Sandall

Activities Coordinator

Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters.  I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity.  I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Carpet Bowls went down very well at Hunters! Ali thought she would give it a try and the residents greatly enjoyed it so will now be added to the weekly activities. The competitve side came out of everyone, but all in good spirit!

Thank you Mindsong

This week's Mindsong was as always thoughly enjoyed by the residents. Such great voices and choice of songs - their visits are always popular.  Hunters are so grateful for this wonderful charity whose volunteers visit the home every fortnight.

Knitting Club is a Popular Choice

The activities team at Hunters have started a new knitting club and it is proving popular. There are experienced knitters, those re-learning and those learning for the first time. As with all our crafting groups these are not only a time to get creative, but it is also very relaxing and there is always lots of conversation and tea!

More Puzzles, Quizzes and Games

When we ask Hunters' residents what they enjoy and would like to do more of at our residents' meetings, quizzes, puzzles and games are always high on the list. The activities team ensure these are always included in the weekly planner. These activities are also very sociable, a recent game of dominos saw a group of lady residents have a good chat around the table with a cup of tea.
