Activities at Hunters Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ben Sandall
Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters. I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity. I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Hunters Care Home

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue visit Hunters
This week at Hunters we had a visit from Paul Barrett, a member of the Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Services Community Safety Team. He gave our residents advice on keeping safe in their rooms and what they can do to help avoid disaster in the home. Paul also explained how staff can do their bit to keep everyone safe and where to look for further advice. Thank you to Paul for your time and a big thank you to all of the Gloucestershire fire and Rescue service for the amazing work you do.

Hunters residents get active in the new year
Hunters residents have been getting active in the new year. First a spot of table tennis in the dining room, always fun and very competitive. Then some chair based exercises with the brilliant Matt from G-Fitness. To finish a game of the always popular “schoola” in the lounge.

Christmas Day at Hunters
Christmas Day at Hunters is always fun, especially when Santa and Rudolph stop by to give out presents to all our wonderful residents. Many were very surprised, but also delighted to see him as you can see from all the smiling faces. Then of course the main event, off to the dining room for a delicious Christmas dinner delivered by kitchen team. Lots more smiles, fun and full bellies!

Christmas Party Time
Last week we held our annual Christmas party days for both our Memory Lane and General Communities and what a great time we had! First a delicious party buffet and a glass of fizz, followed by wonderful live Christmas music. Everyone was smiling and lots of fun was had.

Festive trip to Garden Centre
Festive fun at Hunters yesterday with a trip to Dobbies Garden Centre to see the lovely Christmas displays, do a bit of shopping and enjoy a nice cuppa and piece of cake of course! Another lovely day with everyone getting into the Christmas spirit.

Remembrance Day
The Residents were joined by students from Rendcomb College in creating a Poppy display in honour to all who served in the war. Making beautiful poppies from felt to hang on our tree, whilst residents and even students shared family stories of bravery and comradery.
