Activities at Hunters Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Ben Sandall
Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters. I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity. I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Life at Hunters Care Home
Pebble Painting
Hunters' residents were continuing their creativity today painting pebbles for the woodland trail. Painting is so relaxing and residents are really enjoying the arts and crafts sessions. We want to keep adding to the woodland trail so if anyone has any items that they could add to the trail that would be great, so far it includes fairy houses and a tortoise!
Stunning Florals
You will notice when visiting Hunters how beautiful the Hunters' gardens and grounds are looking this summer. Residents love getting involved in looking after the plants and with such hot weather watering was very much needed so we were very grateful for some help.
Still Life Drawing
With such glorious weather residents wanted to be outside but nothing too active so Ali set up a still life drawing session. This was a very relaxing way to spend time in the sun and greatly enjoyed by all.
Summer Sunday Lunch
It was a perfect summer Sunday lunch at Hunters dining al fresco. Our beautiful courtyard was the ideal setting and with such delicious food and wine it was so relaxing. The perfect afternoon was topped off with more Wimbledon.
Fantasic Start to Wimbledon
There can be nothing more British than Wimbledon, but Hunters topped this with a Union Jack tennis net for their own Wimbledon tournament! What great fun everyone had for the first day of Wimbledon playing balloon tennis we certainly got our residents moving they are very agile. Everyone is very much looking forward to the rest of Wimbledon fortnight.
Cheeky Squirrel
What a great wakeup call - not the birds but a very clever and cheeky squirrel. Hunters has some wonderful wildlife you never know what you will see when you look out!
