Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home

Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.

Life at Hilderstone Hall Care Home

Valentine's inspired cookery demo

We had a lovely time joining Chef Alex Connell from Vegetarian for Life for a Valentine’s-inspired virtual cookery demonstration.  Chef Alex created some delicious Valentine’s Day-inspired vegetarian desserts, which our residents had the opportunity to try too.

First, our residents sampled a wonderful sticky toffee pudding, which was absolutely heavenly. Then they tried hazelnut truffles which were a huge hit and finally they were treated to a chocolate orange cake which everyone adored.

Burns Night Supper

Chef prepared a delicious Burns supper in celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns, the author of many a Scots poem.  Residents gathered for Scottish themed activities throughout the day and enjoyed a wee dram of whiskey too!

International Flower Day

Hilderstone Hall celebrated International Flower Day by taking part in some flowery activities, we started the day off with flower art therapy and flower word searches then ended with a lovely afternoon of group flower arranging.  Fun was had by all and each resident proudly took their colourful creations to their rooms where they displayed proudly and can brighten up any wet and windy day!

Reaching the high notes

Residents and staff at Hilderstone Hall have had a blast singing along to some well known favourites on the karaoke.  Residents where thrilled when carer Sukesh purchased them their very own karaoke machine as a gift for Christmas.
