Activities at Hawthorns Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Hawthorns

We've been keeping very busy here at Hawthorns!

We welcomed back Katie's Ponies, who are always popular with residents. Our panto this year was 'Jack and the Beanstalk' – an extremely fun event, which residents really enjoyed. We also welcomed back Clare's Puppets for our open day event in January. Our Valentine's dance saw residents take to the floor and dance the afternoon away. Hawthorns took part in a fundraiser for the late Bradley Lowrie, where we all paid to wear football shirts for the day. Our big breakfast event was a fundraiser for the Neoangels charity in Stockton for premature babies.

A horse racing afternoon was held on Tuesday 20th June. It was a thoroughly enjoyable time for those who took part, winners and loser alike!
