Hawthorns Care Home in Peterlee
Hawthorns Care Home is a modern, purpose-built home set in a peaceful residential area of Peterlee. We provide excellent 24-hour nursing care for older people, alongside expert care for those living with dementia in our dedicated Memory Lane Community. We also offer a neurological rehabilitation service for younger adults and cater for respite stays and short breaks.
Our Memory Lane Community is visited regularly by a consultant psychiatrist and our neurological rehabilitation unit has a regular visit from a consultant neurologist, a team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists, in addition to our nursing, activities, support and hospitality teams.
The home also has a music therapist, whose sessions bring fun and laughter to the home, and reach out to people who may otherwise struggle to communicate. Music can help people, regardless of their disability and illness, and sharing in music is an incredibly comforting, positive and affirming activity.
We always welcome visitors, so please feel free to call us or pop in at any time.

Types of care
The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our services are devised with individualised treatment in mind for each person, so getting to know everyone and understanding their needs is imperative to delivering bespoke, person-centred care.
