Activities at Hagley Place Care Home

Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Mandy Hayward

Activities Coordinator

I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Easter Celebrations

Easter was celebrated in true Hagley Place style this year with Richard Burton leading us a with rousing selection of old favourites that got us dancing and singing like there was no tomorrow! We had an Easter bonnet contest and even a tricky Easter egg hunt as well!

Nutrition & Hydration Week

Residents and families had a lovely afternoon tea as part of Nutrition & Hydration Week here at Hagley Place. There was a selection of delicious cakes, sandwiches and pastries to enjoy, along with samples of smoothies for both residents and families to indulge in. Residents and guests both thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed event and have called for more of these afternoon teas!

Dog Show

Dog Show

Canines and mayhem ruled during our dog show. Big, small, scruffy and smooth dogs came along to Hagley Place for this special event, and entered into a variety of categories, from 'Waggiest Tail' to 'Wettest Nose! The lovely people from Pets at Home donated both prizes and time to judge the competition. The residents had a lovely time with all of the dogs and have even asked that there be another show held during our Summer Fayre!

St David's Day

Hagley Place residents celebrated the national day of all things Welsh this year with Welsh songs and hymns from Rachel Hyde. The party was a roaring success and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it; Welsh residents even sang the Welsh National Anthem to the delight of everyone there.

St Patrick's Day Celebrations

Residents, staff and the public all got together to celebrate St Patrick’s Day with Irish cream profiteroles, Guinness and Baileys. There was even a pitcher of green beer to try! The music was provided by Kitty Greenwood, who played traditional Irish jigs, and we even got up and danced to a few!

Snowmageddon

Staff members, Shann and James, braved treacherous conditions in a 4 x 4 to pick up staff who couldn't make it in due to heavy snowfall.

Our handyman, Ollie, also worked for 4 hours to clear a path for staff and emergency vehicles.
