Hagley Place Care Home in Ludlow

Hagley Place is a purpose-built, residential and nursing home providing high-quality 24-hour care for older people and those living with dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. It offers luxurious private rooms, all with en-suite facilities. Our team of qualified and dedicated staff are committed to providing professional and respectful care that focuses on the individual needs of each resident. We also offer respite care, which you can now pre-book up to a year in advance.

The dedicated Memory Lane Community provides high quality nursing care for dementia residents. Within the community, memory boxes with small reminders and items, such as photographs, are used to help individuals reminisce – a process which allows reference points and assists in preserving a sense of self. Certain features, including careful interior design, specially designed activity kitchens and sensory gardens with low risk walkways, help people to engage with everyday tasks and pleasures. Hagley Place was one of the first homes to be accredited as part of Barchester’s 10-60-06 Dementia Care programme, reflecting the enhanced quality of dementia care and improved quality of life experienced by residents here.

The home is situated on the edge of historic Ludlow town and has panoramic views of the Shropshire Hills and surrounding countryside. We are always happy to answer questions, so feel free to call up or, better still, arrange a visit to the home.

Types of care

The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our services are devised with individualised treatment in mind for each person, so getting to know everyone and understanding their needs is imperative to delivering bespoke, person-centred care.

Our Team

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Claire Harris

General Manager

Hello, my name is Claire, and I am the General Manager here at Hagley Place – welcome to our website!

I first came into the care sector over 10 years ago, where I first started out in domiciliary care as a carer – and I completely fell in love with the job! Throughout my time in the sector, I’ve worked in the community with people in their own homes, provided rehabilitation from hospital, cared for people who have had strokes, supported people with Parkinson’s, those living with mental health conditions and I have provided palliative care. I have also taken care of people who are living with dementia.

I have great experience and knowledge of the care sector and I have a passion for delivering high quality care. The residents are at the heart of everything I do here at Hagley Place and are what make the home truly special.

I am able to develop a strong team and share my vision of what outstanding care feels and looks like; I feel very proud to be the General Manager here.

I think you'll find us very unique and well-suited to provide you or your loved one with the care you deserve.

Anna worked for us as an agency nurse; she loved coming to Hagley Place and always asked the agency she worked for to book her here. When we know longer needed to use agency staff, she missed this place a great deal and Hagley Place missed her even more. So, we asked her if she would like to join our team.

Anna is a very experienced nurse, working in many hospitals and nursing homes.

In 2014, Anna was awarded Nurse of the Year in Shropshire.

We are very lucky to have her on our team.
