Activities at Hagley Place Care Home

Activities plays a big part in the care we deliver to residents; activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Mandy Hayward

Activities Coordinator

I have a long background in the care industry and love to incorporate the outdoors in my activities. This role is very special as it allows me the time to get to know our residents and their families in a deeply personal way.

Cheese and wine party

Our cheese and wine party at Hagley place was a huge success. The chef made delicious platters of biscuits, crudites, fruits and different cheeses including; Wensleydale with apricot and cranberry, stilton, creamy goats cheese, red Leicester, brie, smoked gouda, cheddar and a hot and fiery chili pepper cheese. The live classical music was beautiful to listen to, with a live violinist and pianist playing classics such as ‘Nessun Dorma’ and ‘A nightingale in Barclay square’. We look forward to the 'King and Rackham classical duo' coming to perform again very soon.

The Magic Table

We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.

The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, promoting movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!

You can read more about it on this page.
