Activities at Four Hills Care Home

Our activity and lifestyle programme is arranged for all our residents to participate in and is updated regularly based on ideas from our residents group during our resident forum. Our Resident of the Day strategy ensures each person receives at least one day each month where the focus is all about them.

We have a monthly concert and to date this is appreciated and enjoyed by most residents. The Four Hills Taverns is open for business every Friday afternoon and is an area where residents and staff socialise, hold pub quizzes and partake in a little refreshment.

The team at Four Hills try hard to meet everyone's needs and encourage all residents and their families to join in the fun.

Life at Four Hills Care Home

Residents enjoy a virtual tour of Cliveden from the National Trust Talks Service

We were treated to an amazing live virtual talk and a tour of Cliveden, hosted by the house and chapel guides from the National Trust Talks Service.

The volunteers kindly gave us a tour around the famous house taking an in-depth look at Cliveden’s many stories from its 350 year history, from devilish dukes to scandalous headlines and boundary-breaking garden designs to political notoriety.

Starting with the Duke of Buckingham who built the first house in 1666, our residents met the key owners who helped shape the house and its gardens including the Orkney, Sutherland and Astor families.

The talk was accompanied by an illustrated presentation which brought to life these individuals and showed how their influence at Cliveden still continues today.

We all had a brilliant time.

Pancake Day at Four Hills

The first day of March was busy as we marked not only St David’s Day but also Pancake Day. Pancake Day or Shove Tuesday is the traditional feast day before the Lent on Ash Wednesday.

Our residents had a wonderful day, filled with pancake-inspired activities, they prepared homemade pancakes and decorated them with fresh fruit, berries, syrup and chocolate.

It was a fun day, enjoyed by all!

An afternoon of games at Four Hills

Residents at Four Hills have been getting into the competitive spirit with a games afternoon.

Resident, Jenny said the pairs game was great for helping improve her memory and was good fun!

It was a great reminder of games they played with their families and helped them reminisce about good old times.

Nescafe virtual experience

We had a fabulous time joining NESCAFÉ’s virtual coffee experience. We were able to look into how they sustainably farm their coffee beans, as well as, to have a virtual tour of one of their factories all from the comfort of our home.

To make things even more interesting, our residents had the chance to test their knowledge with an interactive quiz, and to the delight of all to taste the signature Sweet Cinnamon Shaken Iced Coffee cocktail.

Love is in the air at Four Hills

Residents at Four Hills enjoyed spreading the love this week as we celebrated Valentines Day.

Our home was filled with flowers, cards, balloons and decorations as we celebrated the day of love in style with sweet treats and gifts.

Our residents had the opportunity to taste delicious themed sweet and savoury treats, prepared by our talented chef, followed by a Valentines themed party with live entertainment from Luke like Sid.

It was a wonderful day enjoyed by all!

Pamper Afternoon for the ladies at Four Hills!

Our ladies enjoyed a relaxing pamper afternoon today at Four Hills.

They enjoyed a lovely hand and foot soak followed by freshly painted nails. Some of the residents also enjoyed getting their hair done.

An afternoon of relaxation over a natter and a cuppa was exactly what we needed on this cold day!
