Activities at Fountains Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Fountains Care Home

Leo's Visit Brings Joy

Harvey brought in his beautiful dog Leo to meet us, some residents remembered Leo from when he was a puppy. We all enjoyed fussing Leo & asking Harvey questions about his likes & dislikes. Pet therapy bring so much joy to all of our residents, to see the smiles on  faces as they meet the dogs is absolutely amazing!

Creative Crafts

Arvinder, Sumia & Jane sat with our residents & enjoyed a creative & relaxing flower pressing session together.  This then turned into card making, we all enjoyed making our art along with a nice cup of tea & delicious homemade cake baked by our head chef Maria

Burns celebrations

Here at Fountains we prepared a traditional Burns Night feast to the tune of bagpipes.  To honour the famous Scottish poet, we hosted a poetry and music session to learn more about the Scottish Country Dancing and the Ceilidh and to mark the Scottish institution, including giving the time-honoured address to the ‘Great chieftain O’ the pudding’ race’ – the haggis.

High tea and bubbles

The residents of Fountains enjoyed an afternoon of High Tea and Bubbles. Residents enjoyed a selection of home made desserts especially prepared by the homes hospitality team.

Chinese New Year

Everyone at Fountains would like to wish you all a very Happy Chinese New Year. What does the year of the Rabbit mean for us? Its is said that the Lunar New Year kicks off this weekend, and if you feel the past year has been a tumultuous roller coaster, you'll be glad to hear that, as the Year of the Tiger draws to an end, the rabbit is traditionally a symbol of hope and peace, possibly signaling a calmer year ahead.

Arts therapy group

Racheal from NVartsandhealth came in to run a class with the residents on Monday. The residents Absolutely loved the crafts they were creating and the glass painting was a particular favourite.  The art that was created by the residents is stunning and a true keepsake.

Art is so important for mental health and it gives the residents time to sit and relax with friends, while expressing themselves through art.
