Activities at Epsom Beaumont Care Home

At Epsom Beaumont, the daily activities always aim to be enjoyable for all. Our Activities Coordinator is constantly working to mentally and physically stimulate each resident and ensuring that our programme is define moulded to the wants and needs of those we support. We host weekly outings to many local coffee shops, and also some bigger trips to Brighton and the Brooklands Museum. Our outings tend to be a new and exciting experience for residents, but are sometimes repeated for those who could not make the trip the first time. The activity schedule changes weekly, but there are some regularities, such as our crossword and bar nights, where families are invited to join their loved ones for a social evening. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home and we are proud to say we have a dedicated Activities Coordinator who is supported by all of the care team to really make it successful. We have received excellent feedback from residents and relatives, which only makes our bond with them stronger.

Louisa Capaldi

Activities Coordinator

I always said when I started working I wanted to have a rewarding job that puts a smile on people’s faces and makes their day just that little bit brighter! I started working in the care sector as a hospitality Assistant, and then became a carer and then the activities coordinator. I really enjoy getting the residents up and moving, and getting active. I enjoy learning new things about the residents and doing meaningful activities with them that they enjoy and benefit from.

Lunch Boxes

A team from Epsom Beaumont, delivered 100 lunch bags to Headley Court in Surrey, for the key workers lunches. This is to show appreciation to the teams at the hospital and hope our lunch bags helped fuel their busy day.

Easter Family contact

Contact with loved ones is so important. We will continue to use all that is available to us via technology and social media to help our resident's talk to their loved ones at this challenging time.

Afternoon Tea Event to Celebrate the Queens 94th Birthday

Staff and Residents at Epsom Beaumont celebrate the Queens Birthday 94th this year with a delicious selection of afternoon tea and cakes.

We Understand the Queen was not to far from our care  home celebrating at Windsor Castle with Prince Phillip also with an afternoon traditional tea. We hope she enjoyed herself as much as we did,

Bouquets of Flowers from Marks & Spencer

Epsom Beaumont received a wonderful surprise, we had hundreds of beautiful flowers that got delivered by our Local Marks & Spencer. This came as a complete surprise to our residents who at this time of isolation really appreciated the gesture. Flowers were displayed in all areas of the home including individual bedrooms of our residents.

We recognise that people have basic needs: to feel safe, accepted, loved, and a sense of belonging. This was an amazing act of kindness from the team of Epsom's Marks & Spencer. We want to thank you to make all our residents feel valuable during these times of uncertainty, when our residents are not able to see their loved ones face to face.

Pen-pal Writing Club

Epsom Beaumont Care home have taken up old-fashioned letter writing workshops to help build friendships while under lockdown. Staff said the new pen pal writing clubs help residents communicate as the pandemic makes relationships more challenging.

“Some of our residents have not had a letter through the post in years,” said Epsom Beaumont activities coordinator Nikki Harris and our community engagement advisor Joy Brosnan said. “We had great fun writing the letters, and it triggered lots of memories and conversation.”

Nikki and her colleague Joy, plan to continue the project and hope to bring the pen pals together, when it is safe to do so.
