Activities at Emily Jackson House Care Home

Our activities team continues to offer a wide range of activities to both mentally and physically stimulate our residents. Our activities include one to one shopping, group outings in our minibus, and regularly attending our local church and bowling club. We also enjoy the entertainment from the musicians who come and visit us as well as our PAT dog. We have a range of activities so residents with all abilities and talents can join in activities and social gatherings. We encourage families and volunteers to share the joy with us by taking part in our social events as well.

Don't Dine Alone

We opened our doors to a number of people from the community to help tackle loneliness. We invited anyone who would usually dine alone to join us on 12th July for a meal.

Diners were treated to a tasty lunch in our recently refurbished dining room. Guests had a chance to chat to the home’s staff and residents while enjoying their food. Visitors came from all over Sevenoaks and relaxed to music by Smiley from the '40s, '50s and '60s.

Our Head Chef produced a range of dishes to cover varied individual dietary needs and preferences. Diners were served a three-course meal, fruit punch and refreshments of their choice.

The ‘Don’t Dine Alone’ initiative was launched by Barchester as a way to reach out to isolated or vulnerable members of local communities.

Care Home Open Day

Young and old came together to celebrate Care Home Open Day for a day of community fun on the 21st of June.

Guests tucked into tasty summer nibbles and everyone enjoyed tapping their feet to traditional old time music by Rick Stills.

All who visited had an opportunity to view our home and its facilities and took away a goodie bag.
