Activities at Emily Jackson House Care Home

Our activities team continues to offer a wide range of activities to both mentally and physically stimulate our residents. Our activities include one to one shopping, group outings in our minibus, and regularly attending our local church and bowling club. We also enjoy the entertainment from the musicians who come and visit us as well as our PAT dog. We have a range of activities so residents with all abilities and talents can join in activities and social gatherings. We encourage families and volunteers to share the joy with us by taking part in our social events as well.

The Magic Table

We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.

The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!

You can read more about it on this page.

Summer Fête

Staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together to enjoy an open day that was held at the home on Saturday 9th June. We hosted a variety of events and activities throughout the day, which included a visit from the ex-Mayor, live coverage of the Queen’s official birthday, a BBQ, a tombola stall and a performance from a West End singer. Everyone had a lot of fun!

Royal Wedding Celebrations

On the day of the royal wedding, we had a celebratory glass of Prosecco and cream cakes whilst watching the entire ceremony on TV. We waved our flags and unleashed some party poppers.

Fun in the Sun

We have spent many happy afternoons in the garden over the recent weeks enjoying the sun and flowers. We have also been in the garden whilst listening to the Emily Jackson Choir.
