Activities at Denmead Grange Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we won’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our activities team is dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Lisa Harris

Activities Coordinator

Being Head of life Enrichment isn’t just a job, it’s a passion.

My time with the residents has and will always be an honour and pleasure.

Finding out their interests and hobbies, so I can tailor the weekly planner is such a great thing to do, as this means lots of chats over a good cuppa! But it also means that I can get to know them personally and get to understand a part of their past, so I can continue to help them experience their interests in this next phase of their lives.

A truly rewarding role, where I can be part of and contribute to something meaningful. All I hope for, is to make this journey for both the residents and their families, as restful, easy and enjoyable as possible. Then I know I’ve done my part.

Marketing Suite Opening

Newly appointed General Manager, Sharon Hare, recently unveiled Denmead Grange's new Marketing Suite, where she cut the ribbon to the completed part of the home with a giant pair of scissors, and toasted the opening with the team members who joined her on the day.

Sharon was joined by Rebecca Whatley, the Home Services Advisor, Susan Kureishy, the new Administration Manager, Sofia Costa, the newly appointed Administrator, and Abbie Johnston, the Deputy Manager who were all there to celebrate the marketing suite opening.

Doors opened to the community on the 2nd and 3rd of November. Guests were invited to preview the services available, and were able to enjoy a spread of sweet treats provided by the hospitality team as they discussed their care needs.

The marketing suite was fitted out by Barchester’s team of expert interior designers, and provides the local community an opportunity to see what the finished 60-bed care home will look like when the home is complete.

The marketing suite features spacious en-suite bedrooms, a lounge, an activities room and a large assisted spa bathroom, all designed with the comfort of residents in mind.

Topping Out , Topping Out

Topping Out

We recently marked the completion of the latest stage of Denmead Grange, where the final tile was laid.

The home will provide high-quality residential and dementia care for older people in the neighbouring community and will open its doors to residents in January 2020. It will also feature en-suite bedrooms with smart TVs, spa bathrooms, an in-house hair salon, manicured gardens, as well as a cinema and activities room. The home will also feature a “magic table”, an interactive, multi-sensory projector that will bring a bit of magic to residents living with dementia with a variety of fun, musical games.
