Activities at Cossins House Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Lisa Unsworth

Activities Coordinator

I have been working in care since the age of 16, when leaving school. Over the years, I have been a senior care assistant, administrator, home trainer and activities coordinator. I really enjoy working with the elderly residents.

Life at Cossins House Care Home

Welcome Back!

General Manager, Rosem can be seen officially 'opening' our garden for relatives to visit their loved ones. Resdents have been delighted to see their relatives with all social distancing and temperature checks in place.

Make a Wish!

Residents are delighted with our new wishing well, situated out the front of Cossins House. We used an old bike, which has been painted white and decorated with flowers. Both items have made a huge difference to our garden and given a new focus for our residents, who always love and admire being outside. Something new to bring a smile to our faces during lockdown. Why throw things away if they can be recycled into something special?

Over the Rainbow

Residents and staff have designed a rainbow window for carers and NHS staff. We love our rainbow, which looks beautiful overlooking our fantastic garden.

National Tea Day

Residents at Cossins House have had a lovely afternoon enjoying lots of different flavoured teas, biscuits and cakes. We also enjoyed watching a YouTube video of a resident's son and granddaughter, who put together a few songs at home whilst being unable to visit, for our residents to enjoy.
