Activities at Cossins House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

I have been working in care since the age of 16, when leaving school. Over the years, I have been a senior care assistant, administrator, home trainer and activities coordinator. I really enjoy working with the elderly residents.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Cossins House Care Home
Al Fresco Fun
We love to walk each day and have fun in the garden. We enjoy the company of our chickens, who greet us daily.
A Sunny BBQ
We had our first day of glorious sunshine during March; we got to enjoy a delicious BBQ and had our lunch outside. Residents and staff made the most of the day and spent the time together in our garden eating plenty of food and engaging in lots of conversations with each other.
Feathery Friends
Our lovely chickens have a free run in our gorgeous 4 acre garden each day. They are fascinating to watch and visit us daily to see what treats we have. We are enjoying keeping motivated and walking daily around the garden to see the chickens.
101st Birthday Celebrations
Josephine celebrated her 101st Birthday on 19th February 2021. She was delighted to receive a letter from the President of Ireland, alongside a small gift, which has been placed with her previous letter when she turned 100 years of age.
Josephine is a lovely, kind- hearted lady and brings such happiness and joy to all at Cossins House. Josephine enjoyed an afternoon tea party and celebrations with other residents in our home. Happy Birthday, Jo.
Active Minds
Cossins House residents enjoyed word searches and painting, keeping minds active and stimulated. Iris loves to get creative with painting and always delivers such beautiful pictures. Ruth and Pat love to complete word searches after their afternoon walks in our beautiful garden.
Our New Visiting Suite
Residents and relatives are delighted with our new visiting suite. We can all see our loved ones and remain safe at all times.
