"The staff here continue to take such good care of my wife even as the help she needs increases. She enjoyed her trip out to a local garden centre recently. Yesterday she was sitting outside in the sun with others when I visited with my son. When I told them that it was his birthday, all the staff came out to sing happy birthday to him. This is how memories are made. Thank you."

"I was so anxious about my mum moving to a care home but Cossins House is amazing. All the staff are genuinely caring and attentive and the activities coordinator is absolutely wonderful in keeping spirits up in an inclusive and genuinely fun way. Everyone participates and the activities are such great fun - there is a lot of humour and sometimes silliness which gives everyone a giggle. This is so unlike any care home I have visited in the past. My sincere thanks to all the staff and residents for making it such a cheerful place."

"I was very pleasantly surprised to arrive here at Cossins in August 2023 to a very warm welcome from the staff. Since then, I have been treated very well in all manner of ways, from being washed and dressed in the morning, to throughout the day when I have been given cups of tea often. The Activity Coordinator provides us with a number of activities to help our well-being, mental and physical."

"Cossins House is an excellent care home. My 90-year-old mum stayed for respite after a hospital visit and was treated with great love and kindness. The staff treated her with dignity at all times, the facilities were superb and the food was wholesome and nutritious. Mum was hesitant about staying in a care home, but they built up her strength and confidence, so that she was able to return home easier, certainly made a difficult time for our family much easier to cope with."

"With only the eyes of a visitor to the home I can only imagine that the residents are the luckiest people to be able to spend their days at Cossins. The atmosphere is so friendly and the attitude of all the staff is one of cheerful, dedicated care. The house is immaculately clean and the grounds are a joy to walk in. "I was very comfortable and well looked after at Cossins House. All of the staff were very polite, helpful and accommodating at all times. My room was spacious and clean, the garden space was welcoming and enjoyable to be in. The food was tasty and meals were always on time and well cooked. Outings were well planned and appreciated. "Cossins House provides a wonderful home for my mum. The care is professional, kind and my mum feels very safe and happy. All staff are excellent and really care about the residents. The facilities are lovely - a nice lounge and a large well cared for garden. There are also activities on many days of the week, which include visiting entertainers and occasional visits outside the home. The food is nutritious, and there is a good variety. Overall, I am very happy with the service provided."

"My mother-in-law initially came for post-operative respite care, but within a matter of a few weeks, she had settled so well that she chose to make Cossins her permanent home. She is incredibly happy. The best we have seen her in years. Relaxed. At ease. Happy, happy, happy. She thrives in the company of other residents and carers but is also happy to spend time in her room, which is homely and with all her familiar things around her. We are so appreciative of the care she gets and delighted she is once again happy. We could not recommend it more highly."

"I was looking for somewhere for my mum, who had been living independently until a stroke in July. She made the decision herself that she was no longer able to look after herself safely. Cossins House was recommended to us and has been perfect in every way. Mum is so well looked after physically and mentally, and the relief of knowing how happy she is making new friends and living life again makes me so happy."

"My mum had vowed to stay in her own home but due to failing health has now moved permanently into Cossins House. Despite her reservations, she has found that life there is so much better than it had become for her at home. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, everyone working at the home in any capacity knew her and called her by her name as soon as she moved in, and this approach has helped to dispel her confusion at living in a different place. The caring staff, most of whom have worked there for several years, are unfailingly cheerful and encouraging even when her mood is not so sunny. The food is tasty and well presented and takes my mum's tastes into account. The surroundings including a wonderful garden are well-kept and comfortable and there are plenty of activities to get her involved. We could not ask for a better place for her to live now."

"I cannot praise the staff of Cossins House Care Home enough. They are very attentive and caring in every way. Our sister was at home here since the first day she arrived. During lockdown, the staff kept us informed how sister was doing and we were able to "see her" on WhatsApp video. I would recommend this home. "My father-in-law has been a resident at Cossins for two years and in that time he has received the best of treatment in every way possible. The staff are excellent in every regard, patient and very kind. The home itself is set in beautiful grounds which the residents are encouraged to use at all times. "My parents (both 93) moved into Cossins House in November 2014. Dad had had a hip operation and Mum realised that they needed more care. My dear mother has always been fussy and a bit difficult! Cossins was recommended by the physio, and when I told them that we were going to see it, Mum said, "Out of the question. I have visited it and I didn't like it." My cousin persuaded them to see it again. "Oh this is nice!" said Mum. "It isn't how I remember it! And the manageress is lovely!" So they moved in, and were given excellent care from the start. All the staff are brilliant, and very caring and gentle. The manageress is particularly good at coping with Mum's moods, and jollying her along. She often lends her a tablet so she can watch ‘Songs of Praise’! Dad was in hospital with a chest infection in 2015. When he returned, Cossins got him a more suitable bed and arranged extra nursing care. He had a stroke last year, and died in May. The staff have been really good at helping Mum to cope with her new situation."

"My aunt has lived at Cossins House for almost 4 years and I cannot speak highly enough about the care and attention my aunt receives. Initially, my aunt was able to live more independently and as her needs have changed, the wonderful staff at Cossins have seamlessly increased their assistance to keep my aunt as happy and comfortable as possible. Her accommodation is spacious with a beautiful aspect and the whole house and grounds are well kept. In particular, the manager has been outstanding in making sure my aunt has everything she needs."

"My mother's health has deteriorated rapidly during February 2017 to the point where constant nursing care has been required. Nothing has been too much trouble for the Cossins staff. They are an extremely caring team who have made my mother's last days very comfortable (and safe). An outstanding care home with outstanding, understanding staff. My mother passed away at the beginning of March 2017."

"My cousin has been happy at Cossins but had to go into hospital with a suspected stroke on 11th February 2017. For 2 weeks we were trying to get her back to Cossins. It was not until the manager spoke to the hospital that they agreed to release her. From the moment she knew she was coming back her whole body relaxed and she showed her gratitude to everyone (as much as she could) when they greeted her on 22nd March. The care and love she has received since then has been exemplary and has blessed us all."

"My grandmother was a resident for two years approximately. She was so happy at Cossins and regarded the staff as family. They always treated her with the greatest respect, allowing her to maintain her dignity. I was deeply moved by the love and care showed to her by the staff up till her passing. I would recommend this home to anyone needing residential care in old age."

"My mother was admitted in 2016, aged 91 for care following a fracture at her home to her arm. She was due to leave but found her room, the staff and the care so friendly and the ambience so warm that she asked me to sell her house as she wanted to stay. Staff were always so welcoming and became 'family'. Late 2017 she fell ill and needed hospital admission. I was told she would live slightly longer in hospital but we chose to return to Cossins. The staff arranged a special bed and filled her room with flowers. The end of life care was extraordinary and she died peacefully. I can't praise the staff too highly. Wonderful."

"My mother was only in Cossins House for just under a year when she passed away aged 95. She had stayed there for three weeks respite in 2009 after having pneumonia and we were impressed with it then. There were still staff from that time when she went back last year. It is the most 'caring' care home. All the staff are wonderful, the grounds are beautiful and lots going on for the residents in the way of activities and outings. It has such a lovely feel and so friendly. My mum was very happy there, wished it could have been for longer."

The fact that most of them have been there for a long time is really important. "Overall I am very happy with the care given to my father at Cossins House Care Home. The accommodation is excellent (a self-contained cottage), except there have been many problems with the bathroom whose design is faulty. The current management team is excellent as are the carers except, that some do not speak/understand English very well. Cleanliness not always up to scratch but I am not unduly concerned about this. Security difficult for staff as the cottage is not in the main house. Communication greatly improved recently."

"Very friendly and caring, lovely atmosphere and great grounds and gardens. The building is not best suited to a care home due to the different levels on the first floor but, having said that, it does give the more mobile clients a bit of exercise. The top rooms do seem to get rather hot in the summer. But all in all, it's a lovely place for the clients to live."

"My mother lived the last three and a half years in Cossins House Care Home: Cossins has a cosy 'home from home' feel to it and benefits from being small and intimate, where both residents and their relatives can build a warm and trusting relationship with its staff, many of whom have worked there for many years. All staff aim to make the later years of the resident's lives stressfree, safe and warm and comfortable. We were so lucky to find it."

"Cossins House seems a very happy place. There is always a pleasant atmosphere and I have noticed a pleasing improvement in the general environment since the new manager took over. The staff do a difficult job with a smile on the faces, which cannot always be easy. Personally, I am very happy to see my relative in these surroundings. Perhaps a little more "supervision" in the lounge might be appreciated (not observed but reported)."

"I wanted to drop a review in for this amazing care home. Goodness, I do not think a review will justify the amazing work and care that everyone does to make my grandmothers life at Cossins so wonderful. They all, in their kind and caring way, go beyond the call of duty as such to do things for my grandmother and more so for all of us as a family now. There have been so many ups and downs with my grandmother's health and yet the one thing that is stable throughout is the staff care and love shown to all of us. "I visited my friend recently and I thought I was at the wrong address, a grand difference from the entrance and inside the home. Of course, my friend is extremely happier about the change at Cossins. Team members are the same enthusiastic, happy and ready to help. You can feel in the atmosphere, the compassion and care, and the teamwork. A good feel care home I must admit."

"All the staff are extremely welcoming and are able to update on my mother’s condition anytime I visit her. She has had a lesion on her leg which was very worrying, however, through attentive and thorough care, this has improved immensely. The staff regularly visit her in her room and engage and she responds and seems to be able to recognise them, albeit in her limited way."

"I’ve been volunteering at Cossins House for a month now, and I can honestly say that this is one of the most caring facilities I have ever been to. The staff are second to none; not only did they make me feel welcome as soon as I walked in, but also the love and care they have for the residents is remarkable. The residents are always looked after, and most importantly loved and looked after. There are always activities to be done to get the residents to socialize and have a good time, as well as everyone checking up on every resident to make sure they are always well cared for. The grounds are beautifully kept, complete with a chicken coop and pond; the residents are able to take walks in summer and have access to great facilities. I couldn’t have asked to work at a better home, and I feel that I am part of a family I will have for life."

"We have been here for 2 days so far. We are very impressed with the quality of the caring and great kindness of all the staff. There are reliable people around if help is needed. The garden is particularly attractive and the flowers add greatly to the cheerfulness of the home. The food seems very good too."

"As soon as we walked through the door we knew that this was the place for dad. Critically the staff were super friendly and caring. The room was spacious and light. The atmosphere was nice. We were not disappointed. As dad subsequently made a speedy recovery and was able to come home he showed no hurry to leave Cossins."

"After visiting my grandmother while on leave I am yet again taken aback how amazing the staff are at Cossins House. My grandmother is very comfortable and cared for beyond my wishes. We fed her lunch which was not only well-balanced but delicious by the looks of her empty plate yet again.
