Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Sharon Rickman
Hi, my name is Sharon, and I'm part of the activities team here at Corrina Lodge and have worked here for over 20 years. I thoroughly enjoy my job and have achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Activities whilst working here. During my time here, I have met some truly amazing people and I feel privileged to work in a home with such a sense of community.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Corrina Lodge Care Home
Games afternoon
Dumitru the General Manager always makes time to spend with our residents. Whether its for a chat, coffee, slice of homemade cake, or a good old game of scrabble.
Crafty Creations
We have had a wonderful time creating a selection of festive table decorations, painting Father Christmas wall plaques and also designing personalised Christmas Cards for their loved ones.
Residents had lots of laughs and fun posing for photos in front of our winter wonderland back drop. Relatives are really enjoying receiving these very special cards.
Elf Antics
Residents and staff all joined in with Elf Day, enjoying a game of Elf bingo and winning some great prizes. There were also lots of elf antics happening about the home. Residents said they had thoroughly enjoyed the fun of the day. Pictured are the three winning elves from the day chosen by residents.
Festival of Virtual Events
Residents at Corrina Lodge have been enjoying a wonderful selection of virtual events during the festive period, and thoroughly enjoyed a bespoke virtual visit to The Nutcracker Christmas Special with The National Ballet.
The residents were able to participate through music and movement, and everyone was transported to a sparkling Christmas Eve in a frost-dusted Edwardian London.
We also got to meet the ballet dancer, James Streeter, who plays the Mouse King. One of our residents, Mary, was very pleased to be complimented on her elegant moves. Everyone said how much they enjoyed the experience and we have since purchased a film of The Nutcracker to enjoy together on Christmas Eve.
Remember, Remember
Residents and staff enjoyed creating a Guys Fawkes for our Bonfire Night celebrations. There was lots of laughs during the afternoon. Guy was certainly a talking point and made himself quite at home. Pictured is Senior Carer, Dale, doing a thorough health check.
Beauty Treatments
The in house salon has been working hard to keep all of our lovely residents feeling pampered. The salon always has a wonderful atmosphere and really does give that salon experience. The activities Team have been working incredibly hard to ensure their customers leave the salon relaxed and smiling. Pictured are some of our residents looking fabulous!
