Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Hi, my name is Sharon, and I'm part of the activities team here at Corrina Lodge and have worked here for over 20 years. I thoroughly enjoy my job and have achieved an NVQ Level 3 in Activities whilst working here. During my time here, I have met some truly amazing people and I feel privileged to work in a home with such a sense of community.

Life at Corrina Lodge Care Home

Valentine's Day

Corrina Lodge enjoyed a special Valentine's Day, with everybody enjoying an Italian meal cooked by our wonderful chef. The café was transformed into a charming Italian bistro and some of our lovely Corrina couples were invited to enjoy a romantic lunch. They all said they had a thoroughly enjoyable time and there was definitely amore in the air.

Well done, Michelle!

Corrina Lodge have had some exciting news regarding one of our long standing members of staff, Mrs Michelle Llaguno.

Although Michelle was a registered nurse in her home country of the Philippines, she has had to pass a number of exams here in England to validate her nursing pin.

Michelle has now achieved this and passed all her exams with flying colours. We are lucky to have such an amazing team here at Corrina who all enjoyed congratulating Michelle on her success and brilliant achievemen. Michelle has said she is thoroughly looking forward to her new role and continuing on her journey.

Ageless Golf

Residents here at Corrina really enjoyed Ageless Golf, which is just one  of our staying active sessions throughout the month. It is very well-attended and there is always a competitive air in the room. As well as competing against each other, we are also part of a league. We came second in the league in January, and we are in the process of purchasing a trophy cabinet to display all our winning trophies. Go Corrina!

Christmas Surprise

Resident Margaret was really pleased to receive a gift from Santa, Mother Christmas and Elfie. Margaret was enjoying a sherry and a mince pie with her family in the Corrina's Café when he arrived. Margaret was not going to let Santa go before asking him for a quick Christmas Kiss. Good old Santa and his merry team were then able to deliver presents to the rest of the lovely Corrina Lodge Community.

Christmas Table Decorations

Residents spent a lovely morning preparing some Christmas table decorations and getting in the festive spirit. We were supported by Liz and Tim who brought a wonderful selection of flora and fauna to inspire residents to create some wonderful and unique centre pieces, which are being greatly admired by visitors.

Fundraising for Breast Cancer

Corrina Lodge enjoyed fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Residents and staff got into the spirit and dressed in pink for the day and, as you can see, there were some very interesting outfits about the home! The chef also made a selection of very delicious cakes for residents, staff and visitors to enjoy!
