Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home

Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor are delivered using the whole home approach, where there is never a dull moment. Our Activities team take great care to make sure that our residents, resident’s families and staff’s physical, mental, and social well-being are taken into account. Whether it is a group session or a personal-centred activity you can be certain it is meeting a need.

We have our regular activities such as Scrabble Club, Bingo, Zumba, Gardening Club, Movie Time, family support meetings, Residents meetings and many more. We are also known for our theme days where the whole home likes to dress up. We have even been known in the past to go for a drive in the minibus in our costumes!

Arts & Crafts

Arts & Crafts

We designed autumnal pictures from leaves collected from our grounds and the surrounding area. Fun was had by all!

Feeding the Birds

Feeding the Birds

Residents of Cherry Blossom Manor have been having fun making bird feeders out of pipe cleaners and Cheerios. This activity helped with social interaction and dexterity. It was an activity that all residents could enjoy. We will follow this up by taking a walk in our gardens and hanging our creations.

Odiham Canal

Two residents spent a beautiful day in the village of Odiham. Thanks to Accessible Boating and their fantastic volunteers, Dave and Ann, we travelled along the canal, stopping at King John's Castle to have a look around, before returning back to our pick up point.

The residents and staff were enthralled to see the canal and its natural beauty. Before heading home, we stopped in the Village of Odiham and participated in a little light lunch.

We have had several trips with Accessible Boating, a local charity, and on these trips we have had great fun spotting kingfishers, herons, deer, ducks and many more animals. We have also met lots of like-minded people from the community along the way.

These outings are designed to improve social interaction amongst residents, well-being, dexterity and mobility.

Nelly the Elephant

Nelly the Elephant

This is Nelly; she was made by the residents and lifestyle team here at Cherry Blossom Manor. We made a cardboard frame and shaped her body out of old newspapers. We then papier-mâchéd her, layering her up where she needed it. Her ears were added and made from old cereal boxes, and her eyelashes were no longer of any use. We all had fun making and decorating her and Nelly won first prize in our local village féte in the 'something new from something old' category.
